“There was nothing like the joy of standing over the pan watching the images appear. Each time felt like Christmas morning!”
Lee Craig, Photographer
I’m delighted to introduce Lee Ann Craig, a photographer with a true artists’ eye. An eye that can find beauty everywhere, whether it be a rusted sign, a long abandoned car, a scrub brush desert trail or a verdant garden pathway. Her sweeping landscapes and natural macro abstracts are visually compelling creations, but it’s her images of ramshackle heirlooms, forsaken and decayed, that continually lure me in. Viewing her gallery of portfolio collections such as ‘Junkyard Jewels’ and ‘Kicks in the Sticks’, one begins a captivating visual journey into the texture and detail Lee likes to call “the rust and the dust in the corner”. I hope you will enjoy Lees’ galleries of work as much as I have! – Jo Ann Tomaselli – former featured artist
Artist Statement
I am a photographer and visual artist, enjoying the freedom that comes with doing something that I love for a living. I often jokingly refer to myself as a recovering portrait, event and commercial photographer. Several times a year I leave the studio behind. I load the equipment and head out on the open road with camera in hand and photos in mind.
I started my love of photography with a 35mm film Nikon. I eventually added two medium format film cameras, a Mamiya RZ67 and a Hasselblad 501. I soon added a darkroom to my growing hobby. There was nothing like the joy of standing over the pan watching the images appear. Each time felt like Christmas morning!
I went back to school for additional art history classes after my children were grown. While there, I also learned the ins and outs of that new field of photography – digital photography. Yes, it was new then! It was not long before I had added several digital pro cameras and lots of new glass to my arsenal.
What you will find in my collections as you browse is a return to my fine art roots. It is an ever-changing path for me. Mine is an ever evolving and growing art style that I hope will speak to you in some positive way as it does to me.

Part of Lee’s talent lies in her word crafting. Time and time again I am drawn in, first by her photograph, then again, after reading her titles. She guides you to really see what her (very talented) eyes see.

Lucinda, you bring up an excellent point. I found I was unable to include all the titles of the 100s of images I share from artists each week and so I had to forego entering all of those titles manually. So I hope artists’ work will pull readers into their prospective sites to get more detail. And you are absolutely right that Lee’s image titles are as important as her work! Thanks for your visit and for commenting. Douglas
